Youth Mission Team to Journey to Minnesota

During the week of July 17th- 23rd, our youth mission team will join 400 others at the Group Work camp in Red Lake Minnesota. Just over 100 miles south of the Canadian border is Red Lake, MN (home of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians). These Chippewa are fiercely proud of their land, and remain one of the few tribes in the country who have refused to sell any of their territory. Life here is rich in tradition and in appreciation for the Earth. But, there are few jobs and most of those are seasonal, leaving people unemployed throughout the long, hard Northern winter. As a result, many families go without desperately needed home repairs. Our kids will join hands with the proud people of the Red Lake Chippewa Nation, discover a new culture, a beautiful part of the country, and a fresh appreciation of Christ’s love.

Our group will provide home repairs at no cost for elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged people that need our help. Project crews typically serve the same resident for the entire week, creating an environment where meaningful relationships develop. And, most projects are designed to be completed during the week, allowing our group to experience the satisfaction of a job well done.

Please be praying for our leaders and kids as they prepare and accomplish great things for our Lord.
