Men’s Ministry Opportunities:  The First Men’s Breakfast will be Saturday, September 11th at 8:00 in the Great Hall.  Join this great group of guys for fellowship and a terrific breakfast the 2nd Saturday of each month.

All men are invited to join Jim King and others at the Northeast Men’s Retreat at Lake Champion, October 1-3.  A great time of fellowship, study and fun at this beautiful Young Life “camp” (read resort!).  The high ropes course and zip-line into the lake are only 2 of the fun challenges waiting for you.  See Jim for further information…ask about the Friday Golf Package if you’re interested in starting your adventure on Friday.

Women’s Ministry Opportunities:  Trainers starts Monday, September 13th at  9:15. Trainers Ministry to Moms is fellowship of moms from all stages of motherhood.  Based in the Proverbs 22:6 principle “train up a  child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it”, we learn, laugh and support each other in the triumphs and trials of motherhood.

Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible study with Bea Heid begins September 8th. Ladies meet in the Chapel for a insightful Bible study every week.

Sunday University, our Adult Sunday School, has the following classes for the first 8 weeks:

Book Study In the Library with Bart Shaffer and Dave Shrom- Remember the thrill of winning at checkers or Parcheesi? You become the Master of the Board—the victor over everyone else. But what happens after that, asks bestselling author John Ortberg. You know the answer: It all goes back in the box. You don’t get to keep one token, one chip, one game card. In the end, the spoils of the game add up to nothing. Using popular games as a metaphor for our temporal lives, When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box neatly sorts out what’s fleeting and what’s permanent in God’s kingdom.

In the Parlor with Jim and Pauline King–To the dentist every 6 months for a check up and cleaning, right? Why? Because if you don’t maintain your teeth you’re in for big, sometimes painful problems! You maintain your car.  If you don’t, you can expect it to break down and that’s never convenient! What are you doing to maintain your marriage? Marriage Tune-up is a great time for married couples to check on their relationship strengths and look honestly at growth areas.  We’ll use tools from Life Innovations, (3,000,000 couples have used the Prepare-Enrich inventory to evaluate their relationship) and the best marriage handbook of the last 3500 years, the Bible.
