Care Packages for College Students

Some hungry and weary college students will be reminded that their church family loves them when they receive a care package! If you have a student you would like to receive a package please let the office know (524-4419 or info@first-presby.org) before November 27nd. Please include the student’s name and address. Items for the Mustard Seeds to pack can also be contributed to the drop off box in the parlor. Requested items are: chapstick,small tissue packes, pocket hand sanitizer, snack crackers, small snack bags, gum, granola bars, fruit roll ups, fruit snacks, ramen noodles, individual microwavable soups, home baked treats. 25-30 boxes will be packed.

Pack a Shoebox for Operation Christmas Child

Once again our church will be a collection center for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child during the week of November 14th through the 21th. Volunteers are needed to sort and crate shoeboxes from all over our area. Our youth will be packing shoeboxes at Shoebox Madness on Saturday, November 19th from 6:00 -10:00 pm. Shoebox Sunday for our congregation is November 20. Be sure to have your shoebox packed for our special offering to God’s work around the world. Please pray for our youth as they venture tho Charlotte, NC November 22nd -27th to help at the national processing center. Hours for drop off of shoeboxes are:

“A Christmas Journey” in Only 2 Rehearsals

“A Christmas Journey” is a Christmas Pageant on the run where the audience will go to the scenes of the nativity story. Mark you calendar for December 4th for this fun-filled evening of the retelling of the story of Jesus’ birth followed by our famous Christmas dinner. Our pageant will take only 2 rehearsals; Sunday November 6th, immediately after worship (lunch will be provided) 11:30 – 1:30 and Saturday, December 3rd, 4:30 – 6:00. Kids, youth and their families are encouraged to join in our Christmas gift to the congregation.

Youth to Venture to Charlotte for Operation Christmas Child

Along with helping to run the regional collection center for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes at our church, some of our youth will be traveling to Charlotte, NC to spend their Thanksgiving week at one of the National Processing Centers. There are 2 fund raising opportunities we like to let you know about! Sunday, October 23, the kids will be selling freshly baked chocolate chips cookies before and after worship. On October 30th there will be a soup and sandwich luncheon after worship. Reservations are not required but are helpful. A free will offering will be collected. Quarts are available for purchase ($7.00)
